Nettle

Nettle is a very common herb. In Poland, it is considered as a weed despite many health properties. It can be  found almost everywhere, in the mountains, in the forest, in the garden or on the street. It’s entire surface is covered with hairs which contain irritanting substances. Because of them, after touching a nettle, you can feel a burning sensation on the skin. 

One of the most important property nettle has is diuretic propertie. It increases the production and extraction of urine, which helps to remove excess water and harmful substances from the body. This helps fight urinary tract infections. In addition, getting rid of excess water from the body supports weight loss.

Nettle is also very helpfull in skinproblems. It helps to reduce skin impurities and blemishes. It is traditionally used to combat and prevent acne pimples and blackheads.

In addiction, nettle is a great way to fight some seasonal alergies, which occur when a substance, such as pollen, triggers the body to produce histamine. Histamine causes symphtoms of allergy. There is a theory that nettle has antihistamine properties, which means it may help to reduce allergy symphtoms.
