Forest Fern is a very common plant in Poland. Usually it grows in the mountains, in deciduous forests. It also can be seen on tree trunks or rocks. Its height can reach 1.5 meters, while in the old days it could reach up to 10 meters!
Fern leaves can clean the air of harmful particles. They also have air-moisturizing properties. So they should stand at home in winter and autumn when the radiators heat up at home.
In the past, fern rhizome was considered a medicine to get rid of parasites, mainly tapeworm. Now, however, the fern is considered to be highly poisonous, so it is not recommended to experiment with it on your own.
